Blackberry Control Measures on Massive Infestation
We recently had to treat a massive infestation of Blackberry that had overtaken a huge area of the property. Not only was the Blackberry around 8′ tall (2.4m high), but to make things even more difficult it was located on an extremely steep embankment and covered such a large area that we had to cut away 10 access paths into the Blackberry so we could reach the center of it allowing us to spray every area of the infestation. It took us a few days to complete and a lot of very exhausting physical work. In the video below you will see one of our experienced Pest Technicians cutting and spraying. While cutting through the Blackberry the operator had to be very careful and work at a controlled pace as the terrain he is walking on is very steep. The videos and photos below do not give it justice to the steepness of the terrain unfortunately.

We had to cut 10 of these pathways in order to to gain access. Time consuming and hard work but it was the only due to being too dangerous for any heavy machinery to attempt it. We found many areas where the land was simply too steep, almost for us even.
The first photo below shows how far down the steep embankment it goes – never ending ! The next few photos show how high was.
